Waltr Implementation Saves Lakhs and Redefines Water Management with Significant Reduction in Labor Costs

Jan 2025

A large apartment complex with 20 towers and approximately 2,000 homes experienced transformative benefits after implementing Waltr A and Waltr C for water management. By automating water monitoring and pump control, the complex achieved significant cost savings, improved efficiency, and drastically reduced labor dependency.

Goals

  • Minimize human dependency by automating water management, reducing manual effort, and ensuring smooth operations.

  • Monitor and automate using real-time monitoring and automated pump control to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Lower costs by cutting energy consumption and reducing maintenance expenses through intelligent automation.

  • Implement a cost-effective solution that boosts efficiency while driving down overall costs.

Approach

Waltr A Installation: Advanced sensors were installed in water tanks to provide real-time monitoring, eliminating manual checks and ensuring precise water level tracking.

Waltr C Integration: Automated pump control optimized water usage, preventing overflow and reducing energy consumption, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

Data-Driven Analysis: Collecting past data helps prevent problems and improves the management of water and pumps.

Problem

The client’s previous system heavily relied on manual monitoring and a large team to manage water levels and operate pumps.

This resulted in:

High Human Dependency: A large team was needed for continuous monitoring and interventions, leading to increased labor costs.

Human Errors: Mistakes like overflow, motor overruns, and missed checks caused inefficiencies, adding to operational costs.

Water Wastage: Inefficient manual management led to significant water loss, increasing utility costs.

Solution

Waltr A: It automatically monitors water levels and sends instant updates to a mobile app, eliminating the need for manual checks. Users receive real-time information without needing to inspect the tank physically, reducing human involvement in daily monitoring.

Waltr C: It automates pump control based on the real-time data received from Waltr A. The system only activates the pump when necessary, preventing overflows and optimizing water usage. This removes the need for manual pump operation and management, significantly reducing human intervention in water distribution.

Impact and Results

The automation of water level monitoring and pump operations resulted in significant labor savings. Previously, a large team of plumbers was employed across shifts, incurring substantial monthly and annual costs. With the introduction of automation, the need for plumbers was reduced, leading to savings in lakhs annually. This reduction in human labor directly contributed to a notable decrease in labor costs while also streamlining operations and enhancing overall system efficiency.

A New Approach to Water Management

The integration of Waltr A and Waltr C transformed the complex's water management system into an automated, efficient, and reliable operation. This innovative approach not only reduced operational costs but also ensured sustainable water usage, setting a new standard for modern water management in large buildings.

Waltr continues to assist building complexes across the country in achieving similar outcomes, with products like Waltr B and Waltr V offering tailored solutions for borewell scheduling and valve control. Together, these devices are leading the way towards smarter, more sustainable water management.
